Reading. That is all.

Good Morning!

My all or nothing personality is shining bright.  I am really into reading and it’s keeping me from doing anything else…eating, drinking, exercising!

I still wake up early but all I want to do is drink coffee and read.  I should be leaving for Title Boxing right now but I can’t wait to get back to my book! 

Must. Find. Balance.

Maybe I need to become one of those people who reads while doing cardio.

Those stupid romance novels are addicting and most of them are only 250 pages, so I can read them in about half a day.  Knowing that, I don’t do anything else until I have finished.

And that darn Nook makes it so easy to download a book. So once I finish one, I just download another!

I did manage to leave the house on Wednesday and play golf with Justin, his Dad and Stepmom.

Justin and I walked nine.  I love my new push cart.

After the front nine, Jane and I left and the guys continued on and played the rest of the eighteen.

We went to lunch.

We both had a turkey Mediterranean wrap with some fruit from Jason’s Deli. It hit the spot.

Yesterday, we ran some errands and then I read all day.

Oh, except when So You Think You Can Dance came on! Super excited that is back. Love that show!

Maybe I’ll park myself on the Stair-mill and read at the gym.

Maybe not.

Where have you BEEN?!

How’s that for a picture!! LOL!

I took a little break. Not on purpose, at first, but then it felt good to not keep track of life for a bit so I just kept going with my little vacation.

My break started with getting my monthly visitor. That was on a Thursday and Friday morning. Friday night, I headed to the athlete’s meeting for the WBFF Competition that was in town to help out. THAT was so much fun! I didn’t take one picture, though.

The next day, Saturday, I had to be at the venue at 7:30am and was there until 11:30pm.  I had a little break between the morning and evening show so I ran home to see Justin for a couple of hours and grab a nap.

I had a blast backstage.  It made me long to be ON stage, but I really liked helping all the competitors and sharing in their excitement.

I got busy the next couple days and ended up not posting.

And then on Wednesday, I downloaded the Fifty Shades Trilogy and the rest of the week is a blur!

I have been hesitant to admit that I have read the series, because, honestly, it’s a little embarrassing.

But, whatever, there it is. I read it.

Now go read it. So we can NEVER talk about it. ha!

Curiosity got the best of me and I had to see what all the hype was about.

I downloaded the trilogy Wednesday afternoon and was finishing it at 5:30am on Saturday.

I get it.  I get the hype.

Other than what the books are about, it felt good to loose myself in some books for a couple of days.  It’s so relaxing.  I also had never read a romance novel.  I am reading them NOW!

Do you guys read romance novels?

It’s time to get back to my regular routine. I missed writing and communicating with everyone through blogs.  I have barely opened my computer in a week.

I have my work cut out for me today trying to get caught up on all YOUR blogs!

Stir Fry Veggies

Stir frying veggies is where it’s at!

It is the easiest way for me to pack veggies into a meal.  I love all the color and flavors. I just can’t get enough of these veggie stir fry’s lately!

I am really trying to cut my carbs after noon.  I feel the best when I eat five meals a day with carbs in the first two or three (sometimes I eat carbs at my noon meal) and then no carbs in my last two meals.  I am also trying to make those meals smaller.  I eat A LOT! As you guys know by now!

Workout

For yesterday morning’s workout, I headed to my new gym!

  • 20 minutes on the Stair-mill
  • Lower body workout
  • 1 mile cool down jog on the treadmill

I’ve noticed that I don’t have anxiety about lifting weights at the gym.  I think it’s because everything is so new and clean and it’s not crowded.  I think the Y was a little too crowded and germy for me.

After getting everyone in our house up and going for the day, Justin and I took the girls on a two mile walk.

Our cable went out yesterday afternoon which means so did our internet and phone. 

We spent about 45 minutes thumb wrestling before going outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Finally, the cable was restored and we went back to normal life.

Shopping & Tanning

This Saturday is the WBFF Central US Championships in Kansas City. The show I competed in last year.  That Facebook page I started, for support as I got ready for prep, is still being used and is so full of excitement right now as everyone is getting ready.

Now I wish I would have done it!  Instead, I will be helping out backstage.  I am pretty excited about that, too.  I’ll get to see the other side of show.  The athlete’s meeting is Friday night and then Saturday will be a full day starting with getting the venue ready for all the athlete’s and then helping them with the morning show, a couple hours of rest (hopefully) and then the night show.

Knowing I am going to be around all these stage ready bodies sent me straight to the spray tanner!  I know her from spraying us last year, so it was fun to see her again and come home with some color!

Workout

I started the day with Title Boxing.  Cisco was out of town training for a fight, so a new trainer was in his place and Holy Smokes!  He was awesome and totally kicked our butts.  I usually say that I am a Cisco snob, but this guy was a close second.  I thought I was going to throw up at one point!  After class, one of the girls told me the story behind that trainer.  He started a year ago, when the school opened, as a student and has lost over 100 lbs!  He has had a total life change and is now a trainer!  How awesome is that?!

I spent most of the afternoon shopping for a dress and some other stuff to wear this weekend.  Such a hard day…shopping and tanning! ha!

The Weekend

Good Morning, it’s Monday!  I woke up this morning to our cable and internet service being out.

Joy.  How am I supposed to drink coffee without looking at Facebook?  Don’t they know I need my routine?

Oh well, by the time you are reading this, everything will be restored and my day will be moving along.

Workouts:

  • Friday: Title Boxing
  • Sunday: I canceled my Y membership and bought one with Impact Fitness because they have a Stair-mill.  I started with 20 minutes on the Stair-mill, then did an upper body workout and then a cool down on the treadmill jogging for a mile.

Workouts & Meals

It’s Friday! And yesterday was Thursday, and this is what I did:

Workouts

I started the day with a 5 mile run.  It started raining on me toward the end and it was so refreshing.  It was a warm and humid run yesterday morning so I welcomed the cool rain on the way home.

Once home, I cooled off a bit and then headed downstairs to lift weights.  (sorry the font looks like that, I have no idea why making it a picture did that to it)

Just Say No to Gossip

Good Morning!  I am up and at ‘em this morning. Ready for the sun to rise so I can hit the streets for a run.

I woke up full of energy yesterday morning.

My favorite trainer at Title Boxing, Cisco Guerra, is also a motivational speaker.  This week he has been having us run outside and then gather in the parking lot and giving us a morning “pep” talk while we jog in place.

Monday’s was about keeping your enthusiasm and energy in life by always staying hungry.  Yesterday’s was about gossiping and talking negative about people.  He just reminded all of us adults that we have the power to NOT get sucked in to gossip and negativity.  Even if people are doing it around us, we can stop it by not passing it on and not giving energy to the person doing it.

It was a good reminder.  I don’t work in an office, so I don’t find myself wrapped up in gossip or talking about others very often, but it happens.  Cisco was right, talking about other people doesn’t benefit anyone.  It doesn’t make anyone involved feel good. So why do it?  Shouldn’t we be constantly working toward making ourselves and those around us feel good and be better people?

Workout

  • Title Boxing – In between all the bag work and other exercises, push ups were on the agenda.  My chest is soooo sore this morning!  I think my back is even sore! ha!

Feelin’ Good

Good Morning!

Man, I feel good this morning!

I felt great yesterday morning too!  Woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 4:15am.

I think the girls wish I would sleep in some days!

I was excited to start my day yesterday because I had plans to meet my friend, Noreen, for a long run.  We’ve gotten a little behind on our long runs, but just by one week.

We met up and ran 8 miles.  It felt great!

I also ate a couple of these mini ice cream sandwiches in the afternoon!

The brand is SoDelicious and they are Neopolitan!  And mini!  And dairy free!

I stuck gum in my mouth after dinner so I wouldn’t eat the rest of the box!
