Running Mantra

I got a fun box yesterday!

Lindsay, from Chobani, contacted me and wanted to send a box of their new flavors. Yes, please!  They aren’t so new any more because there was a mix up with my address and the shipment was delayed.  They arrived yesterday, though, and Justin and I immediately grabbed a spoon!

I tried the apple cinnamon and it was delicious.  I had a feeling I was going to love it because everyone has been raving about it. The chunks of apple have a crisp, tart taste and the amount of cinnamon to apple flavor is perfect.  I will probably be eating all of these and will definitely be buying this flavor.  A container of this would be perfect in some pancakes also!

Justin tried the passion fruit and was very disappointed.  There are A LOT of seeds.  And not seeds that he felt like he could eat. Seeds the size of a sunflower seed that were hard as rocks. No thanks.  Those containers will be used in smoothies where I will pulverize said seeds!

Looking forward to the blood orange today. I have heard good things about that flavor as well.

Workouts

Yesterday started with a 5 mile run.  It was chunky.

I’m not even sure why.  The temp and weather conditions were perfect and I started out feeling light and tall but by the end I started feeling short and squatty.  When I start to get tired, I start tensing up and my shoulders and arms tighten and I feel all hunched over and heavy.  I was constantly reminding myself to stand tall, shoulders back, shake out my arms and that Eminem song “Lose Yourself” became my mantra!

“…the moment, you own it, you better never it go, you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a life time…”

The first two miles felt good but I fought for the last three miles.

Meals

Meal #1: Natural peanut butter with Plum jam (made by my Grandma) and gluten free toast

Meal #2: Tuna salad (tuna, mustard, black olives, dill relish), lettuce on a gluten free bun, chips

Meal #5: Grilled chicken fiesta salad from Minsky’s Pizza (I didn’t get a picture)

That was pretty much my day yesterday! See you all tomorrow!

    i will be attempting a 4 or more miler today (with the running stroller)
    and i know i will feel "roly poly"!
