I have a confession….the other day when I said I ran 5 miles, I only ran 4 miles. I ran what I thought was my old 5 mile route but I wore my Garmin yesterday and it was only 4 miles. NARDS.
I made sure and ran 5 miles yesterday morning, but I’m sure you can understand how I felt when I got to what I thought was my last mile and looked down to see I had two more miles! Talk about taking the wind out of my sails.
I managed to push through. It was a slow 5 miles, but 5 miles is 5 miles! Once I get comfy in this distance again, I’ll start picking up the pace.
It was pretty chilly yesterday morning. When I first got out there I remembered that I don’t like running in the cold, but then I talked myself into getting through the first mile and seeing how I felt. It’s never a good idea for me to make any decisions until after the first mile. It takes that long for my body to get warmed up and my mind to relax.
I felt great once I was warmed up and enjoyed every second of the remainder of the run. Once home, I leashed up the girls and took them for a walk.
I spent most of yesterday trying to plan our vacations for the year. Why does something that will be so fun have to give me a headache trying to plan it!? I eventually gave up and went to Pinterest!
- 5 mile run
- 1 mile walk with the girls
Meal #1: Oats with protein
Meal #2: Protein pancakes with honey
Meal #3: Turkey chili with Nut Thins (Is that a hair hanging off my cracker? Great. I ate that.)
Meal #4: Gluten free pretzels
Meal #5: Chicken, potatoes, roasted green beans and carrots (The carrots weren’t very good. I only ate a couple of those.)
I’m off to get everyone else moving around here. Have a great Friday!
