Ballerina

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned wanting to take a ballet class.  Well, I did it!  I took my first class in over 30 years last night!  After watching The Biggest Loser, I couldn’t get ballet out of my mind.

I told Justin yesterday morning that I was thinking about taking ballet.  He said, “Okay, that sounds like a great thing for you.” Love him. He isn’t phased by anything I say.  He just goes with it!  After telling him I needed to buy ballet clothes, he said, “Are you really going to do this or are you just wanting to buy ballet clothes?”  Honestly….it’s a little of both!

And you better believe as soon as I got home, I put on my ballet outfit and walked around the house on the balls of me feet dancing around, showing my moves to Justin!

The school I checked out is the ballet school my Mom put my sister and I in over 30 years ago.  My instructor is still teaching and it was so neat to see her last night and that she remembered all of us. I had so much fun!  It was challenging yet relaxing. I was out of breath at times.  I had sweat running down my back.  I realized how UN-flexible I really am!  Even pointing my toes was hard! Arch cramp!

My legs will never be the same.  I felt the muscles in my hip area in almost everything we did. And don’t worry, I washed my hair and put my eyebrows on before I went to class.

I was asleep by 8:30pm.

Before I became a ballerina, I started the day with Title Boxing.  I really did not feel like going yesterday morning.  I felt tired and unmotivated.  It took some self talk to get my fanny out the door. Things like “Getting there is the hardest part” “You won’t regret going, but you WILL regret not going” “You will feel better once you are there” “You can’t eat Yogurtini and tacos and skip workouts”

Ha! Not sure if I really said the last one to myself, but it sounds good this morning!

Man, I had the best day yesterday!
