I only made it three miles during my run yesterday. It was getting H-O-T! I came home, grabbed the girls (and some water) and took them for their walk. We didn’t go outside much yesterday after that.
For breakfast: a yogurt bowl – Chobani vanilla greek yogurt, granola, peach
I headed down stairs and did a quick workout. MUST. LIFT. WEIGHTS. I have gotten out of a lifting routine. I can see the changes in my body and the way my clothes fit. I like the figure I get from weights. Plus, I don’t want to eat away all my hard earned muscle with all the running and Title Boxing I’m doing.
- Chest: Flat Bench with dumb bells – 3 sets
- Chest: Flat Bench fly with dumb bells – sets
- Triceps: Standing french press – 3 sets
- Triceps: Kick backs with dumb bells – sets
Short and sweet.
My goal for this week: Title Boxing Mon, Wed, Fri; Running and weights Tues, Thurs, Sat
Meal #2: Egg whites, canadian bacon, mushrooms, gluten free english muffin
I worked on paperwork for the group home for a couple of hours and then it was time to eat again.
I made the most delicious noodle bowl. While it cooked, I snacked on some gluten free cereal.
Meal #3: Brown rice noodles, ground turkey, onion, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, italian seasoning
Oh my goodness, that was so good! I was groaning while I ate it, it was so good.
We made a run to Lowe’s for a new mail box, since ours just fell over on Monday. It was too hot for digging holes and messing with it yesterday, so Justin’s going to do it today.
Meal #4: two brown rice cakes, almond butter, white, chocolate and peanut butter chips
For dinner, I warmed up some of the brown rice noodles from earlier and topped them with ground turkey with taco seasoning and some cheese.
(It looks like one of my noodles is on FIRE!)
I wasn’t really feeling dinner. I don’t know it it’s the heat or what, but I’m just not hungry in the evening.
I can tell from all my pictures, that I was craving carbs yesterday. It’s getting to be that time of month so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
I spent an hour or so outside with the dogs around bed time trying to wear Sara out so maybe she would sleep.
Nope. Well, not without me anyway.
I slept on the couch, in the living room, with the dogs, again last night. I miss my bed.
We were trying to figure out how we trained Katy and Piper to sleep independently. We crated them. I hate to crate her since she spent the first year of her life in a pin. Confined. I’m going to keep working at it. Last night and the night before, we put a baby gate in front of our bedroom door so she could see us, but not come in. She can jump it.
She lasted until midnight last night and I finally got sick of putting her on the other side of the gate so I moved to the couch. As soon as I lay down on the couch, she lays down and goes to sleep.
I’m trying not to let her sleep on the couch with me. I put her in a chair next to me. Somewhere around 3am, I woke up with a beagle curled up on my chest!

Why can’t she do this ALL NIGHT?!
Any advice on how to get a one year old dog to sleep independently, is appreciated!
