It's about 5 months away from my first competition. Yikes! I have moments when I think, "What the hell am I doing?!" Not doing it last year, makes me want to do it that much more this year. I want to know that I have the discipline to go all the way.
I was ready to throw in the towel the other day. I was feeling behind (already!) and super anxious and then I emailed a friend and fellow competitor, read some blogs and realized that I was being a baby! I am going to have days when I get scared and nervous, but I just have to suck it up and move forward. Competing is sooooo mentally challenging. I just have to quit thinking about it so much!
Trust the process...eat the meals I am supposed to eat and forget about the rest....do my workouts, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep. It's really not that big of deal...right?! ha!
I had a great day yesterday. Went to the warehouse for workout #1 (where he kicked our butts!) and then went to my old karate school in the evening for workout #2. I was beat last night, but I slept soooo good!
I think I was feeling crappy on Monday due to too many Christmas cookies from the cookie exchange I went to on Saturday night and then the chinese food I ate Sunday night (oops)! Sugar plays evil tricks with your brain and then my body was mad because of that little gluten intolerance I have! Here's all my cookies packaged up and ready for the cookie exchange. We each make 6 dozen cookies. A dozen goes on a platter for sharing at the party and then we each leave with 5 dozen different cookies. It's lots of fun and makes a great gift. Mine went to the day habilitation center where we send our clients.
I didn't workout on Monday for the following reasons (I came up with a whole list to make myself feel better about it!):
1. It was too cold outside.
2. My intestines were in knots from all the gluten
3. I felt run down from all the sugar
4. I needed to get my Christmas decorations up because after all, I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME!
It was also on Monday that I was having all the self doubt, hmmmmm wonder why?!
I have been back to eating good and I feel so much better. I bought some new clothes yesterday to wear to all the Christmas functions we have coming up and that always makes me want to eat good and get all my workouts in!
Today is a warehouse workout and then I am going to do some sort of cardio. Haven't decided when the cardio will be yet (that is never good!).
I am gearing up for all the Christmas festivities. Our first dinner party is this Saturday and can not wait! I love this time of year! I can't wait to wear all my new clothes...oh and see all our family!
